For me, the sapphire crystal with the Bubble-Date or "cyclops eye" is the perfect addition to this gorgeous dive-watch! I've always loved the Cushion-shaped case of the very popular Seiko Turtle series.  Truly a champion!!

The Zimbe releases are for the Thailand market, a big market for people who love to swim and dive.  It's no wonder Seiko would choose such a beautiful piece to be released in limited numbers for that market!

Story behind the watch:
The Seiko Turtle series of watches was made famous by Hollywood superstar Martin Sheen when he wore one in the movie Apocalypse Now.  Since then, Seiko has been pushing out Turtles of all colors and targeted to various markets due to their tremendous popularity.  This particular version is limited to only 1299 Units and was introduced to the Thai market (Zimbe) which is a well-known destination for divers.  The color scheme on this Zimbe Turtle is one of the best we have ever seen, a light-grey almost silver-white bezel with a grey dial and orange highlights.  This version also has Sapphire crystal and has a peculiar bubble-date on its day/date window. Ours includes a brand new Orange fitted-Rubber strap, along with the original Seiko steel bracelet and grey rubber strap.
